Now That's Respect!
The other day, I was passing two second graders down one of my school corridors. As they were approaching in my direction, I heard the little girl say to the boy, "Well my mother's name is Maria. What's your mother's name?" The boy is a son of one of the teachers on campus, Anne. He started to say, "My mom's name is A....," then corrected himself with "Well, actually, my mom's name is Mommy. I'm not allowed to call her anything else." Now that's respect at its finest!
